Our  AR15/M16 SBR "SHORT BARREL RIFLE" FAKE SUPPRESSOR gives your 16" or 20" .750 AR15 threaded barrel the SBR with a suppressor look and feel without all the paperwork hassle and transfer tax expenses.  Its as close to a real suppressor as you can get without paying the tax stamp!

This SBR "SHORT BARREL RIFLE" FAKE SUPPRESSOR will only fit on 5.56 /.223 AR15's that have a .750 diameter "heavy barrel" that is threaded 1/2-28 and has a minimum of FIVE INCHES of exposed barrel from the very end of the barrel to and any obstructions, such as the gas block or the front sight base etc.  Since this "SBR" fake suppressor telescopes over the barrel for the Short Barrel Rifle appearance, the overall length of the rifle is only increased by approximately one half of an inch (assuming approx .625 of threads). 

Our SBR "SHORT BARREL RIFLE" FAKE SUPPRESSOR is CNC precision machined from solid aircraft grade aluminim with a durable Mil-Spec hard black anodized finish.  It is professionally laser engraved identically to our real NFA registered suppressors.

Since its a fake suppressor, the sound is not reduced and bullet impact is not changed. Although, many customers do prefer the weight and balance improvement that the suppressor provides. Due to the thread timing relationships between the AR15 threaded barrel and the fake suppressor, the position of the engraving on the fake suppressor when screwed on will randomly stop at any position. Although it has rarely been an issue, we have no way to determine where the engraving will stop on your gun. The engraving can be oriented at any position with the use of a standard AR15 crush washer, which is not included.

Of course the AR15 that is shown is for reference only and is not included.

I don't care how much crap you already have hanging all over your AR, this one makes it look like every AR should look. I've posted some pictures of min on the web and everyone thought I'd sprung for a shorty with a can on it, which is exactly what I wanted it to look like. And for $30 dollars, its the cheapest thing I have on my AR but also the most bad ass looking accessory of them all.

I am overall very pleased with this product. It looks just like the real thing and feels like it too! There are just a couple small things I wish were different. I bought the fake suppressor that slides over my 16 inch ar barrel and hides a portion of it. I wish the end of the suppressor was even with the end of my barrel instead of there being a small gap showing the barrel inside the hole of the suppressor. I wish it had a flush hole like a real one to look even more realistic. I also wish it didn't have the white engraved writing on it because it doesn't line up where I would like it on my gun. That can easily be fixed with some paint though. I also want to clear something up for people. This is made for barrels that are .750 in diameter. I have the DPMS pencil barrel that is .642 diameter. I was worried that there might be too much space with the smaller barrel and it may move around. Well I am glad to say it doesn't and it is very solid once tightened and doesn't move at all. Plus you can barely see that the barrel is smaller diameter than the suppressor. Best bang for the buck mod hands down!!

    This FAKE suppressor can NOT be disassembled for any reason. It's solid. If it could be disassembled, it would be too easy for criminals to illegally attempt to construct an unregistered illegal suppressor. As a result, ATF would not allow the sale of a fake suppressor that could be disassembled.

    Fake suppressors are the same as a barrel extensions. Since they don't make the shooting any quieter, they are not federally restricted. A real suppressor actually decreases the sound of the firearm when discharged and is therefore subject to ATF regulations.
  3. Can this fake suppressor easily be converted to a real suppressor?
    Of course not... Suppressors (silencers) are NFA restricted firearms and must transfer in strict compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
  4. Can anyone legally own a fake suppressor?
    Fake suppressors are an accessory. They are not federally restricted. Fake suppressors are the same as a barrel extension They don't make the shooting any quieter. However, state and local regulations might prohibit purchase or possession. Check state and local regulations to ensure compliance prior to ordering.
  5. Can I shoot my fake suppressor on a fully automatic firearm?
    Fake suppressors work the same on semi auto and full auto firearms.
  6. Will the fake suppressor affect my accuracy?
    The fake suppressor should have minimal to no change on the impact of the bullet as compared to shooting with no fake suppressor for general recreational target shooting. The additional weight on the barrel will change how the barrel flexes and vibrates when fired, which could minimally change your point of impact. For general plinking, just shoot it, but before using the suppressor for hunting or other "serious" target shooting, you should re-sight the firearm with the suppressor installed to compensate for any differences.
  7. Can I shoot my fake suppressor on multiple .223 firearms including rifles and handguns?
    Absolutely! That's one of the advantages of having a screw on fake suppressor. You can use it on any .223 firearm that is correctly threaded 1/2 x 28 tpi.

  9. Can I send Tactical Innovations my gun(s) / barrel(s) to thread?
    We currently are not taking in any barrel threading work due to peak manufacturing production demands. Most local gunsmiths aas well as machine shops should be able to correctly thread your barrel for a nominal charge. We have a list of barrel threading tips that you can provide to your gunsmith or machine shop to help ensure a perfect job.
  10. Can I use a muzzle nut coupling instead of threading my barrels for use with my fake suppressor?
    While the use a muzzle nut coupling instead of threading multiple barrels appears to be an inexpensive and fast solution to threading each barrel, the use of any muzzle nut coupling would void any factory complimentary repair work because as the bores of the barrels are drilled, the drill "walks" a little fron the starting end to the muzzle end. This means that the bore is never EXACTLY in the middle of the barrel, so if you clamp a muzzle coupling on the the barrel, the bore will be off center to the fake suppressor. Pistols have a greater possibility of successfully using a muzzle coupling since the barrels are not as long when they are drilled.
  11. Can I get a fake suppressor with custom engraving?
    We do not offer any custom engraving at this time. Your local trophy shop should be able to provide custom engraving if you need it.
  12. Are your fake suppressors available in additional colors other than black?
    Based on customer demand, black with white laser lettering is the only option available at this time.
  13. When I screw the fake suppressor onto the adapter, why does the writing stop at the bottom / side / etc rather than on the right side like in the picture?
    Although its usually not an issue, there is no way to tell where the writing will stop when its screwed on. Its random based on the multiple thread timings and where the fake suppressor was engraved. You can change where the engraving stops by putting a THIN spacer between the fake suppressor and the adapter if you prefer to have it stop in a particular position. However, we have no way to ship you a fake suppressor that will have the engraving stop in any position with any greater probability than having it stop anywhere else.
  14. Can I shoot calibers other than .223 through it?
    Although many customers have had good experiences using their fake suppressors on firearms of calibers other than .223 by using common sense and good judgment, the fake suppressor is not rated for any caliber other than .223. Other calibers will have varying pressures and could damage the fake suppressor and / or cause personal injury to the shooter or bystanders, and therefore their use is not recommended and they should not be used. Safe firearm handling and use would preclude the use of any firearm or suppressor with ammunition other than that for which it was designed.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Installation is fast and easy and requires no tools or gunsmithing.

1.  Ensure firearm is NOT loaded. 

2. Remove existing flash hider.

3. Screw 5.56 /.223 FAKE SUPPRESSOR onto firearm's existing threaded barrel.  Hand tighten until securely seated on barrel.  Do not over-torque.  Use crush washer (not supplied) to position engraving to preferred orientation if desired.

CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

1.  Ensure firearm is NOT loaded. 

2.  Unscrew 5.56 /.223 FAKE SUPPRESSOR from firearm.

3.  Remove lead and carbon from inside of 5.56 /.223 FAKE SUPPRESSOR using pistol cleaning bush and bore cleaner. 

4.  Lightly oil exterior with soft cloth to remove dirt and dust.
