TACTICAL INNOVATIONS INC. BILLET COLT OPEN BOLT LIGHT MACHINE GUN (LMG) PATTERN FIRE CONTROL SET - CNC BILLET MACHINED NEW PRODUCTION
Our Colt LMG pattern Fire Control Parts Set operates from an open bolt and will only work in an M16 machine gun. IT WILL NOT WORK IN AN AR15. Our fire control set contains all fire control parts necessary with the exception of the sear hammer release lever. This assembly will NOT work with our AM15. For AM15 fire control parts, please refer to Item # 00569.
SEAR DIFFERENCES:
The sear in this fire control set does NOT include the hammer release on the sear assembly that would be required for the Colt LMG parts set to operate in an open bolt configuration in .225/5.56. The hammer release portion of the sear is not available at this time but could easily be manufactured to complete this sear assembly for use in the Colt LMG.
All other parts are identical to original pattern Colt LMG parts however our parts are CNC machined from billet tool steel and then professionally hardened.
In order to convert your M16 to fire from an open bolt you would need:
1. this fire control set
2. the hammer release to complete the sear assembly
3. a modified bolt carrier that accomodates the open bolt configuration. A "standard" closed bolt bolt carrier will not interchange or work. We do not manufacture or sell the LMG style open bolt bolt carriers, which could however be manufactured by modifing a standard closed bolt carrier by most machine shops.
The original Colt LMG upper kit also included a hydraulic buffer and "green" buffer spring which was used to replace the standard weighted buffers.
