FOR RUGER® 10/22®

If your factory Ruger 10/22 receiver has some stripped screws which is easy to do with the fine thread #6 screws, then this replacement rail is your solution.  The Pike ARms Picatinny Scope Rail with 8x32 screws allows  you to mount the rail using the larger #8 screws in place of the stripped out #6 holes.  The rail is precision CNC machined in the USA from billet aircraft grade aluminum (not an extrusion or a forging) and  anodized for a durable finish.  It is available in multiple colors and finishes to match your gun.

The 10/22 PICATINNY SCOPE RAIL provides greater forward eye relief for larger optics and is precision machined to mirror the profile of the Ruger factory receiver while simultaneously providing smooth angles to blend the rail into the receiver.

The 10/22 PICATINNY SCOPE RAIL is countersunk for attachment to your receiver using four supplied 8-32 screws,  which require your receiver to be hand tapped to resize the factory holes to accomodate the larger screws.  The larger screws enable the rail to be more securely and permanently attached to the receiver to support heavier and larger optics.  The  8x32 TAP, which is NOT included, is standard in most tap and die sets or is available seperately.  Usually it is not necessary to drill the holes and you can easily re-tap the holes with a pointed 8x32 tap by simply retapping the existing holes.  You should of course see competent help if necessary.

1. The 8x32 rails have been discontinued and are subject to the very limited stock on-hand.

2. Black rails are out of stock and will not be restocked.  Anodized clear aluminum is the only color still in stock.

Really an easy mod to make to your 10/22 and the improvement in stability is quite simply amazing. I have installed these on all 3 of my 10/22's and have had ZERO issues with mounting whatever optic I wanted on them. It's night and day difference in feel going to the larger screws. It's about a 5-15 minute job depending on how fast you are at stripping down your rifle, and getting it back together.

This 8-32 rail is easily installed on your factory 10/22 receiver using 8-32 pointed taps part # 01498 (available separately).  Installation is quick and easy and does not require any tools other than a hand tap holder.

You should not drill the holes in the receiver.  Simply apply some heavy oil to each of the holes and then with a hand tap (not a drill etc), gently and carefully screw the taps in to the existing holes as you feel the tap begin to cut.  The receiver material is soft enough and the holes in the receiver are already large enough with the existing thread for the 8-32 taps to simply cut the holes to the one size larger thread.  Screw each tap in beyond the pointed cutting surface of the tap (about 1/3 of the tap) and then unscrew the tap.  Repeat for each hole and then blow the holes out with compressed air to remove any metal chips while not scratching the receiver.

You can then install our 8-32 rail with the screws included with the rail which will provide considerably more thread for a positive lockup between the rail and the receiver.  A small amount of Locktite is preferred to ensure that the screws never loosen unintentionally.  Use caution not to over torque the 8-32 screws.  It will require more force to strip the 8-32 screws than it would for the factory supplied #6 screws, but the aluminum receiver material can still be stripped even with the 8-32 screws if too much torque force is applied.
