T15BDX™ (BILLET DELUXE)
PATENTED BILLET MACHINED
AR15 LOWER RECEIVER

T15BDX™ (BILLET DELUXE) PATENTED BILLET MACHINED AR15 LOWER RECEIVER

Our patented T15BDX™ (Billet DeluXe) Lower Receiver "cuts no corners" in the manufacturing process or the materials used. It is designed to provide serious AR15 style builders with a billet machined receiver that has every available feature included, at a price that makes it an easy choice over a traditional mass produced forged receiver. Since it is often difficult to compare receivers (other than on price and cosmetic appearance), we've listed below the features that will demonstrate why only a T15BDX™ Lower Receiver will be suitable for your next build.

"The finest AR receiver on the market." - WG in NM
"Every feature I wanted, and then some." - RP in MD
"Assembly was as easy as the looks are good!" - MM in MS
T15BDX™ RECEIVER - EVOLUTION FROM BILLET BAR STOCK
  1. PRECISION CNC MACHINED FROM SOLID BILLET ALUMINUM
Our T15BDX™ Lower Receivers are precision machined on modern CNC machining centers from solid billet aluminum bar (not from a forging or a casting) for maximum strength, appearance and precision tolerances. Manufacturing is NOT sub-contracted to third party machine shops. If our name is on it, we make it here in our North Idaho manufacturing facility with complete control over all aspects of the manufacturing process. Each receiver undergoes numerous quality checks throughout the machining process to ensure unparalleled accuracy and dimensional tolerances.
  2. MANUFACTURED FROM 7075 T6 ALLOY ALUMINUM BAR (NOT 6061)
All T15BDX™ Lower Receivers are manufactured from certified USA produced 7075 T6 aircraft grade aluminum alloy bar stock. Sure, we could save a few dollars on the material and our tooling by using less expensive softer 6061 aluminum alloy, but a premium receiver has to start with the best material. Other manufacturers claim that 6061 will hold up just as well as 7075... but we don't want alloy strength to be a discussion now or an issue later, so we only use the stronger, more expensive 7075 alloy for all of our receivers. Would you put re-treads on a brand new car to save a few dollars? Of course not...
  3. WIRE EDM MACHINED MAGWELL
Machining the magwell of all AR15 style lower receiver presents a few challenges since the magwell has square corners and it needs to be as smooth as possible on the inside for mag changes. To remove the material from the receiver for the magwell, most manufacturers machine from one side and then flip the receiver and machine from the other side to meet in the middle (and hope for no mismatch). But you still don't have square corners (since a round cutting tool will not cut a square corner), so they then they press a broach through the magwell to cut the round corners square. Its fast and does an "OK" job but for a finish that is considered by many to be the premium result, WIRE EDM is unparalleled.
All of our T15BDX™ Lower Receivers have WIRE EDM MACHINED MAGWELLS. Wire EDM machining uses a .010 (ten thousandths diameter) brass wire that passes an electrical current through it while the part is underwater. The wire does not touch the part, but arcs the current to the aluminum while flushing with high pressure water. When the complete magwell slug falls from the part, the result is that (1) the finish is unmatched for smoothness, (2) the corners are exactly square and (3) there is never any mismatch from machining from both sides and hoping to meet in the middle since its cut all the way through in one pass.
So why doesn't every manufacturer wire EDM machine their magwells? Simple... it takes about 30 minutes per receiver to wire EDM machine EACH receiver on a machine that new costs close to $100k. Is it an over kill to machine AR15 magwells? We don't think so. Check out the magwell on one of our T15BDX™ Lower Receivers and see why you won't settle for "good enough" for your next receiver either!
  4. LASER ENGRAVED MARKINGS
To engrave the ATF required markings on our T15BDX™ Lower Receivers, we use the same laser technology that is used to mark diamonds and expensive medical equipment. The result is deep engraving that is crisp and clean and looks like it belongs on a custom high quality receiver. Safe and fire positions are designated with universal "bullet logo" pictographs for the elegant appearance that is generally found only on higher priced firearms.

We cleanly mark the receiver with ATF's required information and do not clutter the receiver with logos or other advertisements. Why don't other lower receiver manufacturers also laser engrave their receivers? Once again it's laser machine cost and additional manufacturing time, but we think laser engraving is worth it!

  5. SHIPPED AS A "RECEIVER" - YOU DESIGNATE RIFLE OR PISTOL
Since our virgin stripped T15BDX™ Lower Receiver can be assembled in either a pistol or a rifle configuration (subject to ATF regulations), no designation of pistol or rifle is marked on the receiver which allows you to assemble it in either configuration you prefer (contact ATF for assembly restrictions and guidelines). The receiver is equally suited for either application.
  6. PATENTED FINGER SAFE POSITIONTM - LEFT & RIGHT SIDE
Safety - Its of primary importance to all of us whether you're a recreational shooter, law enforcement or military. Good safety discipline requires the shooter to keep their trigger finger off the trigger until the target is engaged and they are ready to shoot. Our T15BDX™ has a patented Finger Safe Position™ machined into the receiver for a positive reflexive trigger finger safe placement point for both left and right handed shooters. No other receiver offers this safety provision that is included as standard on our T15BDX™ receiver.
  7. MULTI CALIBER MARKED
AR style lower receivers are the host to a large variety of calibers beyond the traditional .223/9mm/22LR choices. In order to maximize your caliber use opportunities, each T15BDX™ receiver is laser engraved to designate the caliber as Caliber - Multi to provide you with the maximum assembly flexibility.
  8. MACHINED "WINTER" TRIGGER GUARD
All T15BDX™ Lower Receivers have a "winter" trigger guard integrally machined as a part of the receiver. The integrally machined trigger guard adds aesthetic beauty as well as functional strength to the receiver by providing a structural bridge to reinforce the fire control section of the receiver. The trigger guard is large enough to easily manipulate the trigger, even with a light glove on.
  9. UPPER RECEIVER TENSIONING SCREW - INCLUDED STANDARD
With the varying tolerances in upper receivers, its optimistic to hope that the recevier you use will be a perfect fit on any lower receiver and we all know that a loose fitting upper receiver will make even the best custom built rifle seem sloopy. Most shooters solve the problem with a wedge under the upper receiver lug when the receiver is closed. It works well, but is cumbersome.

Our T15BDX™ Lower Receivers come standard with an easier solution. A nylon tipped allen wrench drive screw is installed that can be adjusted through the bottom of the receiver. The upper receiver tensioning screw allows you to put exact pressure on the upper receiver for a perfect upper receiver fit every time.  A 1/8" allen wrench (not included) is required for adjustment if necessary.

  10. REAR PIN DETENT CAPTURE SCREW - INCLUDED STANDARD

Have you ever taken the stock off of an AR15 lower receiver and had the rear pin spring shoot out across the room? Our T15BDX™ Lower Receivers solve the problem by installing an allen wrench drive screw in the spring channel. Once you install the detent and the spring, simply screw the set screw in flush with the rear of the receiver. Switch stocks as often as you want and the lost spring problem no longer exists!

Note: An .050 allen wrench (not included) is required in remove and install the Rear Detent Capture Screw.  When assembling the receiver, it may be necessary to clip a minor amount off of the spring to achieve the desired spring pressure on the detent in order to compensate for the set screw length.

  11. REINFORCED CRITICAL STRENGTH AREAS

The T15BDX™ Lower Receiver is designed to be the strongest aluminum receiver available. Both the left and right sides of the T15BDX™ Lower Receiver are reinforced to provide maximum strength. The reinforcement on the right side provides a pocket area for quick easy magazine changes while the reinforcement rib on the left side of the receiver ensures that the magazine release will not protrude beyond the height of the receiver when the mag catch is pressed. Additional strengthening in critical areas includes (1) the front pin, (2) the stock extension tube and (3) the rear of the trigger guard.

Note: The additional reinforcement areas on the left side of the receiver will prevent the use of an ambidextrous magazine release.
  12. HAND FINISHED FOR A PREMIUM APPEARANCE
Most manufacturers "finish" their receivers in a bulk vibrator that indiscriminately rounds all edges in addition to the sharp ones. However, a receiver with these features and precision can only be finished one way... individually by hand! Each T15BDX™ Lower Receiver is individually hand de-burred to remove all sharp edges from the machining process and then is individually abrasive blasted for a smooth, uniform surface finish in preparation for the final hard anodized finish. Our final visual quality control is simple to understand... "If our finishing crew wouldn't buy it with their paycheck, we won't send it out. Period."
Thanks for taking the time to read why we believe our receivers offer the greatest quality and value of any receiver on the market. If you're ready to build an AR15 style firearm and want to start with a receiver that is worthy of your time and financial investment, our receivers can be purchased through any FFL holder identically to any other firearm. We're proud to put our name on our T15BDX™ Lower Receivers and invite you to personally inspect the machining quality, the laser marking, the plentiful additional features and the individual hand finishing that make our T15BDX™ Lower Receiver a receiver that you'll be proud to own and pleased to shoot.

This is the best receiver I've ever built. Way more solid than my xxxx receiver. Was hard to find one but was worth the money and the time.

These receivers are awesome! They have more features than anything else on the market. Rear detent spring keeper, built-in trigger guard, and best of all the built in adjustment for those sloppy upper receivers. None of those plastic wedges to play around with to get your gun tight. Once again Tactical Innovations makes this stuff look easy. I bought one to try out and will now make these stock items in my gunstore. I looked at this receiver 4x at my dealer's shop and finally talked myself into buying it. Price is more than a regular receiver but was worth every penny. My new gun is awesome (I wish I could put a picture here somehow!!!!!!!!)

Built like a brick you-know-what! Buy two and put one in a safe! When is the AR-10 version coming???????????
By Frank Of
I'd been looking at these receivers and the positive reviews on AR15.com pushed me to lay down the cash for one and I should have done it months ago. It makes my older forged receivers seem cheap and lightweight by comparison. If you're inthe market for an AR to build up, this receiver is worth every penny. Thanks tacticainc! PS - You guys ever going to make an AR10 one???

Best lower I have built so far. I really liked the captured dent and spring for the take down pin.
By Austin Of
Was pretty skeptical at the price..but i tell you what im a machinist and i see alot of quality in this thing! its well built and designed the way a lower should be!

I bought these after using the T15 and I stepped up my battle rifles and their desirability! Dont get me wrong, I still love everything the T15 offers, but THIS is how my field rifles should feel! These things are set up for EVERYTHING and I build NO AR platform without TI lowers! I don't need the high end advertising and the extended costs to know that a cool logo DOES NOT make a better soldier friendly lower! XX, XXXXXXX, XXX, XXXX, XXXXX, and the rest need to KNOW that they have much more competition than what they care to hear! Mated with my XXXX piston driven uppers, you know the ones who were using one piece, not staked on bcgs and short stroke levelers, while the others over charged for weaker and less reliable systems, I have the perfect AR rifles! Thanks and I love all 7 I have bought and employed (and thanks for the sale prices when we were getting them under 130 and T15s under 100)! When can we expect bolt catch devices, 308 lowers, improved charging handles, or everything else that we know TI can make better than the other guys? I will outfit my ARs, Glocks and 10/22s from ONE place. RIGHT HERE! Get these and YOU WILL NEVER KNOW WHY YOU DIDNT USE THESE BEFORE!

Awesome piece of machining. Truly a lower to behold!
By KURT Of Idaho
This is the best lower on the market for the money! Some may have a couple more features but are very overpriced. Others may be forgings that are dirt cheap in quality and features. The BDX receiver is money well spent when building a custom AR type rifle. Solid billet machining and upgraded features are visibly apparent when holding this receiver in your hands. With so many choices out there for custom builds this receiver holds its value better than cheaper forgings in the long run and will certainly outlast most peoples shooting habits. Considering the total price of building a custom AR the cost to upgrade to this receiver makes the choice an easy one...

This receiver is an absolute work of art. The machining and finish are unreal. It is very hefty to say the least, which is a good thing for precision builds. Definitely worth the extra money compared to a standard lower!
By Joe Of Wyoming
This lower is well made, with a nice anodized finish and some nice features. My biggest problem is that it is not fully ambidextrous. When installed, the Norgon Ambi-Catch is recessed within the added material on the lower and can't be used. I also have a Magpul B.A.D. Lever, to allow the bolt catch to be held open from the trigger well, and the added material on the lower just in front of the trigger well interferes with it and it can't be used. Both components are respected and well reviewed, so it's not like i was trying to install eccentric items. The inside dimension of the fire control well is a little tight, but that is better than being sloppy. My JP trigger didn't fit at first, but a couple laps of the trigger on a honing stone and all was well. Being left handed, I'm not sure I would go with this lower if I had it to do over.

This is a work of art, very hefty looking. My lpk fits in perfeclty and fits to my upper with no play and the price is just right for a billet lower.
By Wayne Of Georgia
Absolutely the best AR receiver made. Picked one up from a shop 2 years ago. Went together with ease, well made, designed. I am a former Marine Corps Armorer and I have yet to see a receiver as good as this one! Fit and finish was perfect. It sits on my custom DMR where it continues to perform its mission with due diligence!. I will be ordering more.

I Purchased my Lower approximatly a year ago. I noticed the rear take down pin hole was oversized ( sloppy when the pin is inserted. I would have hoped the tolerence would have been on the smaller end. But overall great lower.
By David Of Alabama
I've built three with their products, one billet and two forged. I'm sure they aren't intrinsically better than others, but the takedown spring plug and anti-wobble screw are a delight. No cosmetic blemishes, and everything fit. On all three I've screwed the wobble screw the whole way out and applied blue Loctite, screwed it back in, then fitted it. After all is said and done, I don't see the advantage of the billet lower, and will stick with forged ones. I wouldn't build with another brand.

I've purchased 3 of these lowers now and am very impressed. They fit up nicely to the Vltor MUR-1A. They feed mags flawlessly and everything was perfectly within spec. Shipping was very fast too. Very impressive machine work.
By Shawn Of Montana
Wow, these are the sweetest lowers I've held. I usually just buy the forged ones which are the best forged lowers out there in my opinion. I love all of the small details TI puts into their builds which make them so easy to install the parts kits into. These billet lowers though are the ultimate. The fit and finish is absolutely superior.
By T Of Virginia
These are without a doubt, the finest AR lower you will ever buy. I own two of these. I would own 5 more, if I could afford it. They are machined with super tight tolerances. I like the trigger guard being unitized with the rest of the receiver - it adds rigidity to the lower. They have a substantial feeling, without feeling heavy, or bulky. The finish on the receivers is fabulous - a deep, smooth black. The edges are machined smooth - no sharp corners to gouge, or catch other parts of the rifle. They have mated together with my Larue Tactical uppers without any issue, and there is no wiggle, slop, or play between the two. Kudos goes to the crew at Tactical Innovations - yet another fine product.

Frequently Asked Questions For

T15BDX™ (BILLET DELUXE)
PATENTED BILLET MACHINED
AR15 LOWER RECEIVER

  1. My upper is tight / loose with my new lower. Is something wrong?
  2. Will Tactical Innovations Inc. engrave and register a lower as an NFA registered Short Barrel Rifle (SBR) and then transfer it to my dealer?
  1. My upper is tight / loose with my new lower. Is something wrong?
All parts have a tolerance both plus and minus and its possible that the receiver, while still in spec, is on one end of the tolerance limits. With all AR lowers from any manufacturer, you'll find that some uppers will be very tight and others will be loose and others will be a perfect fit, depending on where the upper also is on the tolerance range. Although most people prefer a tight lockup rather than an upper that is very wiggly, the only way to get a "perfect" fit with the upper is to purchase a matched set (when available). Uppers that are tight can easily be fitted to lowers for a perfect fit with only minimal filing on the upper mating hole with a round file since the amount of filing required is literally only taking off some of the anodizing, at which point you will have a precision matched set. Uppers that are loose can be tightened up using the Upper Receiver Tensioning Screw that is standard in all of our receivers just for this purpose and situation.
  2. Will Tactical Innovations Inc. engrave and register a lower as an NFA registered Short Barrel Rifle (SBR) and then transfer it to my dealer?
ATF will not allow a stripped receiver to be transferred as an SBR. In order for us to transfer an SBR, it must have a barrel under 16" attached as well as a stock attached. Regardless of how the receiver is marked, the assembled configuration is what makes it an SBR, not the engraving. As a result, we no longer sell SBR's. You should instead purchase a stripped receiver as a title 1 receiver, file a Form 1 and then engrave it for SBR registration.
