The 10/22 PICATINNY SCOPE RAIL provides greater forward eye relief for larger optics and is precision machined to mirror the profile of the Ruger factory receiver while simultaneously providing smooth angles to blend the rail into the receiver. 

The 10/22 PICATINNY SCOPE RAIL is countersunk for attachment to your receiver using four supplied 8-32 screws,  which require your receiver to be hand tapped to resize the factory holes to accomodate the larger screws.  The larger screws enable the rail to be more securely and permanently attached to the receiver to support heavier and larger optics.  The  8x32 TAP, which is NOT included, is standard in most tap and die sets or is available seperately.
